“E” VISA SUCCESS STORIES

We can provide many examples of successful E-1 or E-2 cases that we have handled over the past twenty five years.  Here are just a few of those happy ending cases …

Exotic birds business:  A Colombian national started a U.S. business in Florida importing and selling exotic birds.  We successfully obtained and E-2 visa for this business.  As an aside, he also qualified for the E-1 Trader visa because he was importing those birds for sale from his homeland.

Nail Salon business: Canadian national bought an existing nail salon in Nevada and qualified for an E-2 investor visa.  Her spouse obtained his own derivative work permit to get a very interesting job of his own not related to the wife’s business.

Heavy equipment business: Italian manufacturer of specialized heavy equipment and machinery opened a U.S. branch to sell its product.  We successfully obtained and E-2 visa for one of its Italian employees to run the U.S. business.  This, too, would have qualified for an E-1 Trader visa because the U.S. Company imported and sold Italian products only.

Telecommunications business: Canadian national opened a U.S. business in the mid-west U.S. and erected wireless towers for telecommunications and cable companies.  He qualified for the E-2 investor business.

Tax business: Canadian tax specialist opened U.S. branch to provide tax services to U.S. Companies.  This is a classic example of how a “service” business can also qualify.  There was very little investment necessary to get the E-2 visa.

Cats business: British national bought an exotic cat business in Oklahoma and qualified for the E-2 investor visa

Motel business: Canadian national, born in India, bought an existing motel business in New York State and qualified for the E-2 investor visa.  We successfully orchestrated the whole deal - purchase, finance subtleties and visa work.

Hair business:  Canadian national opened a chain of fancy hair salons and qualified for the E-2 investor visa.

Plants business: British national started a business in the southwest U.S. growing and selling exotic plants.  Acquiring land, buying necessary equipment and tools and purchasing inventory qualified her for the E-2 investor visa.  We also orchestrated this whole deal from inception to visa issuance.

Movie business: Canadian movie enthusiast started a Hollywood business to make movies.  His investment into the rights to make movies (from book authors, etc) qualified him for an E-2 investor visa.

Marketing business: Canadian national with a gift for marketing started a U.S. business with “pyramid like” distributors of vendor promotions and coupons.  He qualified for the E-2 investor visa.

Martial Arts business: Canadian national bought an existing martial arts studio with students and instructors in the southeast U.S. and qualified for the E-2 investor visa.

Paintings business:  French national opened a U.S. business that imported and sold paintings from his fellow starving artist friends in France.  He qualified for the E-1 trader visa.

Specialty Hardware business: Canadian national started a niche U.S. Company that imports and markets hard-to-get British specification nuts, bolts, washers and hardware.  He qualified for the E-2 investor visa.
